Samsung’s latest lineup of premium foldable smartphones—the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Flip8—has shattered domestic sales records by securing more than 2.71 lakh pre-orders in India within 72 hours of launching. The unprecedented response marks the company’s highest-ever initial pre-order volume for foldables in the country, achieving in three days a milestone that took 15 days to reach with the previous-generation Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 series. A significant driver of this growth stems from non-metropolitan regions, with Samsung revealing that 45% of total pre-orders originated from Tier-2 cities and beyond, reflecting a rapid expansion of consumer appetite for high-end foldable form factors outside major urban hubs. Supported by localized Indian R&D, upgraded hardware, refined hinge engineering, and deeply integrated Galaxy AI capabilities, the new devices start at ₹1,24,999 for the Galaxy Z Flip8, ₹1,79,999 for the Galaxy Z Fold8, and ₹1,99,999 for the ultra-premium Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Highlighting strong demand driven by tailored financing options like 30-month zero-down-payment plans, Samsung Southwest Asia President and CEO JB Park expressed confidence that the Galaxy Z Fold8 series will maintain momentum to match the pre-order performance of the flagship Galaxy S26 lineup launched earlier this year.
