Walmart-backed e-commerce major Flipkart Group successfully narrowed its operating losses for the financial year ended March 2026, driven by an 18 percent rise in overall revenue, a robust 31 percent growth in its advertising business, and a notable improvement in unit economics and profit margins, according to consolidated financial results filed by Flipkart Internet Private Limited with the Registrar of Companies as part of its ongoing corporate transition to redomicile in India, which reveal that adjusted Ebitda improved by roughly ₹1,500 crore while the adjusted operating margin improved by 2.3 percentage points to negative 5.4 percent, propelled by a 23 percent increase in gross margin and reduced overhead expenditures, thereby allowing adjusted operating business losses before finance costs, tax, other income, and exceptional items to narrow by approximately ₹1,600 crore or roughly 17 percent year-on-year, though gains at the profit-after-tax level were ultimately moderated to a net loss reduction of about ₹180 crore due to higher finance costs, the derecognition of deferred tax assets recognized in earlier accounting periods, and certain one-off exceptional items, providing a comprehensive historical view of the group’s financial trajectory across its primary business verticals—including flagship marketplace Flipkart, fashion platform Myntra, and travel platform Cleartrip—which operate through multiple legal entities while leveraging shared technology infrastructure, customer loyalty programs, and extensive supply-chain capabilities to serve over 500 million registered customers and support more than 1.4 million sellers offering 150 million products across 80-plus categories, reinforcing its position as a dominant force expanding e-commerce accessibility for merchants, consumers, and small businesses throughout India.
