Mizoram Governor General Vijay Kumar Singh, (Retd),  on Wednesday administered the oath of office to the first Chairperson and Members of the Mizoram State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) at the Durbar Hall, Lok Bhavan, Aizawl. Justice Marli Vankung, former Judge of the Gauhati High Court, was sworn in as Chairperson, while Vanlalenmawia, MJS (Retd.) and Mr K. Lal Nghinglova, IAS (Retd.), took the oath as Members of the Commission.
At the commencement of the swearing-in ceremony, Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena read out the notification issued by the Governor appointing the Chairperson and Members of the Mizoram State Human Rights Commission. Thereafter, Governor General Singh administered the oath of office to Justice Marli Vankung, Vanlalenmawia and K. Lal Nghinglova.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, Speaker Lalbiakzama, PWD Minister Vanlalhlana, EF&CC Minister Lalthansanga, Leader of the Opposition Lalchhandama Ralte, P&E Minister F. Rodingliana, IPRP&S Minister B. Lalchhanzova and other distinguished guests.
Justice Marli Vankung was born on March 4, 1964. She holds a B.A. (English Hons), LL.B. and M.Phil. (International Legal Studies). She joined the Mizoram Judicial Service in 1989 and held several important positions in the Government of Mizoram before being elevated as an Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court on October 13, 2021. She was appointed as a permanent Judge on August 1, 2023 and retired on March 3, 2026. She presently resides with her family at Republic Veng, Aizawl.
Vanlalenmawia was born on April 1, 1966. He holds a B.A. and LL.B. degree. He joined the Mizoram Judicial Service in 2011 and served in various important positions under the Government of Mizoram. He retired on superannuation on March 31, 2026 while holding the post of Presiding Officer, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Aizawl. He currently resides with his family at Tuithiang, Aizawl. 
K. Lal Nghinglova was born on December 1, 1956 and holds a BA (Hons) degree. In 1983, he joined as District Information & Public Relations Officer and served in various important positions under the Government of Mizoram. Thereafter, he entered the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and was allotted the AGMUT Cadre of 1996. After holding several key posts under the Governments of Mizoram and Delhi, he served as Principal Secretary to the Government of Mizoram and retired on superannuation pension on November 30, 2016. He currently resides with his family at Ainawn Veng, Aizawl.
