Mizoram Government, CYMA Sign MoU to Boost Tourism The Mizoram government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Committee of the Young Mizo Association (CYMA) to strengthen tourism development across the state. The agreement was signed in Aizawl in the presence of Tourism Secretary Vanlaldina Fanai and CYMA president R Lalngheta. Tourism Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar said that while infrastructure development remains important, strengthening human resources is crucial to sustain the growing number of visitors to Mizoram. He noted that tourist arrivals have increased significantly in recent years and expressed confidence that the partnership would help further promote the state’s cultural and natural attractions. The collaboration will focus on coordinated tourism promotion by combining government-led infrastructure and development initiatives with community participation through CYMA’s extensive network. Officials said the partnership is expected to improve local engagement and create a stronger foundation for sustainable tourism growth. The initiative aims to position Mizoram more prominently as a tourist destination while ensuring that local communities play an active role in welcoming visitors and promoting the state’s unique cultural heritage and natural beauty.
