The Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) has recorded the highest number of corruption-related cases registered by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Mizoram, between 2010 and 2026, according to an analysis shared by the Bureau. The data, circulated by social media-based news platform Mizoram Click, showed that CADC accounted for 11 cases during the period, placing it at the top among government departments and organisations in the state.

The analysis revealed that Village Councils ranked second with nine corruption-related cases, while the Public Works Department (PWD) recorded six cases. The Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) and the Rural Development Department each reported five cases, making them among the organisations with a comparatively higher number of cases investigated by the ACB.

According to the Anti-Corruption Bureau, the registered cases involve allegations related to corruption, misuse of official authority, financial irregularities, violations of procedures and other forms of misconduct.

The ACB stated that departments and organisations involved in public works, development projects, procurement, financial dealings and services with direct public interaction are generally more exposed to complaints and investigations due to the nature of their responsibilities.

The Bureau has emphasised the importance of transparency, accountability and proper implementation of rules to prevent corruption and ensure better governance across government institutions in Mizoram.
