The closing programme of Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0, along with the “I Kawtkaiah Sawrkar” (Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore/Government at Your Doorstep) initiative, was held yesterday at the Lungsen BDO Complex in Lungsen Aspirational Block under Lunglei District. The programme aimed at reviewing progress across key development indicators and bringing government services directly to the people.
Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0, implemented under NITI Aayog from January 28 to April 14, 2026, is a nationwide campaign covering 112 Aspirational Districts and 513 Aspirational Blocks, including Lungsen. Speaking at the event, Block Development Officer (BDO) Pu Lalhruailiana Zote highlighted that during the two-and-a-half-month campaign, Lungsen Block recorded notable progress and achievements across multiple sectors. He attributed this success to the strong cooperation between officials and the public, and expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved.
Sub-Deputy Commissioner of Lunglei, Pu Benjamin Lalrinawma, elaborated on the significance of the “I Kawtkaiah Sawrkar” initiative, which was conducted under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner. He stated that the initiative plays a vital role in ensuring that people, especially those in remote areas, can directly access services from various government departments at their own doorstep. He encouraged the public to make maximum use of such opportunities.
Under Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0, focused interventions were carried out in Lungsen Aspirational Block across key sectors such as health & nutrition, education and agriculture & allied. Significant progress was achieved in six key indicators, including regular supplementary nutrition for children under ICDS, measurement efficiency at Anganwadi Centres, provision of functional toilets and drinking water facilities in Anganwadis, availability of adequate girls’ toilet facilities in schools, and vaccination of bovine animals.
As part of the programme, multiple government departments—including the DC Office, BDO Office, Health & Family Welfare, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Horticulture, Power & Electricity, Public Health Engineering, ICDS, Food & Civil Supplies and Mizoram Rural Bank—set up service stalls to facilitate easy public access. Services provided included issuance and correction of essential documents such as Aadhaar, ST, residential and income certificates, job cards, voter IDs, and ration cards; opening of bank accounts, as well as health and veterinary services. Awareness and enrolment drives for various government schemes were also conducted.
More than 500 people benefited from the services provided during the programme, marking it as a successful outreach effort in strengthening last-mile governance and service delivery in the district.
