Flipkart has appointed Vinay Vaidya as Senior Vice President, Technology for Supply Chain, as the Walmart-owned e-commerce company continues to strengthen its technology leadership and build next-generation commerce capabilities.

In his new role, Vaidya will oversee technology and platforms across fulfilment services, seller experience, trust and safety, and the marketplace ecosystem. He will also be responsible for driving innovation in logistics and advancing AI-powered capabilities across Flipkart’s supply-chain operations.

Welcoming the appointment, Balaji Thiagarajan, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Flipkart, said Vaidya brings extensive experience in complex commerce environments and will play a key role in strengthening the company’s technology foundation for its next phase of growth.

Vaidya is a seasoned product and technology leader with more than two decades of experience in scaling digital commerce platforms. Prior to joining Flipkart, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Tata Digital, where he led technology strategy, platform modernisation, and large-scale digital transformation initiatives.

He also spent nearly 18 years at Amazon, contributing to the development of core capabilities across Marketplace, Seller Ecosystem, Payments, Search, Browse, and Amazon India operations, with experience spanning multiple categories including grocery and supply chain systems.

Commenting on his new role, Vaidya said he is excited about the opportunity to build technology at a uniquely Indian scale, highlighting the potential to empower millions of sellers and streamline one of the country’s largest supply chains. The appointment is part of Flipkart’s broader strategy to deepen its technology leadership, following several senior hires across AI, fintech, engineering, and platform development roles earlier this year.
