Law enforcement agencies in Mizoram have seized narcotics valued at ₹203.65 crore since 2024, Excise and Narcotics Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar informed the state Assembly.

Responding to a query from opposition MNF member R. Lalthangliana, Hmar said the seized substances included heroin, opium, ganja, methamphetamine, pseudoephedrine, nitrazepam, diazepam, alprazolam, tramadol, codeine-based cough syrup and dextropropoxyphene.

He noted that the drugs were smuggled into Mizoram through the Indo-Myanmar border as well as inter-state borders with Assam, Tripura and Manipur.

Meanwhile, the Excise and Narcotics department reported that since January 2026, it has confiscated 17 kg of heroin, 68.13 kg of methamphetamine, 11.5 kg of crystal meth and 145.49 kg of ganja.

The department also seized over 17,067 litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), 48,036 litres of locally brewed alcohol and 25,072 litres of beer during the same period.
