A sensational case of fraud has come to light where lakhs of rupees were swindled in the name of jobs by giving fake identity of a high-ranking government officer. In Ashoknagar district of Madhya Pradesh, police have arrested a brother-sister duo on charges of duping people of Rs 9.8 lakh by luring them with government jobs. The arrested fraudsters have been identified as Tripti Singh Rajput and her brother Sudhanshu Rajput.
According to ChanderI police sources, the arrested Tripti Singh Rajput had introduced herself as an Additional Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department and Head of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, an IAS officer. The gang of fraudsters demanded Rs 3 lakh each from candidates promising them lucrative government jobs. Accordingly, on April 7 last year, the victims handed over Rs 9.8 lakh in cash and necessary documents to them in Chanderi.
Based on the FIR lodged by the victims of the fraud, on the instructions of Ashoknagar Superintendent of Police Rajeev Mishra, the police laid a special trap. The investigating team arranged to call Tripti back to Chanderi on the pretext of providing new job aspirants. As soon as Tripti arrived, the police arrested her along with her brother red-handed.
Two other associates involved in the racket, named Tanuj Vaishya and Anjali Singh, have also been accused in the case. A luxury car and several expensive mobile phones have been seized from the arrested accused. Police are continuing investigation at their secret hideout in Bhopal to unearth the roots of this fake recruitment racket.
