Eleven-year-old shooter Marpi Karlo, a Class 7 student of VKV Nirjuli, has qualified for the upcoming National Shooting Championship Competition (NSCC) after putting up a strong performance at the 13th North East Zone Shooting Championship in Guwahati.
Karlo, who hails from Lower Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh, scored 369 out of 400 in the championship, which was held from August 25 to 30. Her score earned her qualification for the NSCC in the Sub-Youth and Youth categories.
The young shooter’s performance has been welcomed by the Arunachal Pradesh Rifle Association (APRA), which congratulated her on the achievement. The association said her result reflected her dedication, discipline and commitment to shooting.
Following her qualification, Karlo will represent Arunachal Pradesh at the National Shooting Championship Competition in New Delhi.
APRA president Chukhu Apa congratulated Karlo and extended his best wishes for her participation at the national-level competition. He expressed confidence that the young shooter would continue to perform well and achieve further success in the sport.
Karlo is the daughter of Jummar Karlo and is currently pursuing her studies at VKV Nirjuli. Her qualification at the age of 11 marks an early achievement in her shooting career and adds to the growing recognition of young sporting talent from Arunachal Pradesh.
Her performance at the North East Zone championship has also provided her with an opportunity to compete at the national level and gain further experience in competitive shooting.
