Train service to Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, and the Barak Valley in Assam was resumed on July 4 after being disrupted by a landslide in the Dima Hasao district. Services on the Lumding-Badarpur hill stretch were successfully resumed this morning, according to a Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) announcement. “Train operations through the segment started up again this morning at approximately 9:42 a.m. According to the statement, Train No. 12520 (Agartala–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus) Express was the first train to travel through the rebuilt area.
Large rocks that fell on the rails after the landslide caused disruptions to services between Dihakho and Mupa stations on Thursday evening. According to the NFR statement, constant work throughout the night made sure the debris was removed and the tracks were securely reestablished. According to the report, the stranded passengers were also given water and other food items. It further stated that the trains that were rescheduled or regulated at different points had resumed their planned subsequent route.
