Almost all South Indian dishes contain curry leaves. Chanachur and curry leaves are not used in Bengali cooking except in special terms. Curry leaves are used in food only for flavor, but not for that. This leaf also has various benefits. Curry leaves contain calcium, phosphorus, iron, and vitamins A, B, C, and E, which are useful for everything from the stomach to the hair, skin, diabetes, and fat loss. Apart from this, curry leaves can also prevent several diseases. So regularly chew some curry leaves every morning. However, nutritionists say it is best to mix curry leaves with detox drinks.

1) Heart problems: According to a report published in the National Library of Medicine, regular consumption of curry leaves can keep blood levels of ‘bad’ cholesterol and triglycerides under control. However, more research is needed to confirm this.

2) Aids in digestion: There are few Bengalis who do not suffer from digestive disorders. For that, it has to take medicine regularly. However, Karipeta eats soaked water but suffers from all kinds of stomach problems. Even curry leaves help in curing constipation.

3) Weight control: Karipata contains carbazoles and alkaloids. Which works especially to shed excess fat from the body. In addition to diet and exercise, eating curry leaves regularly in the morning on an empty stomach or in cooking will help you lose fat faster.

4) Blood sugar control: Curry leaves are also very effective in controlling blood sugar levels. Various compounds present in these leaves can also prevent kidney damage caused by diabetes, according to doctors.
