The Mizo Short Film Competition 2026 awards were held in Aizawl, organized by the Information & Public Relations Directorate and the Mizoram Film Development Committee. Raymond Colney’s ‘Maimizial’ won first prize, followed by ‘Zualtei Pa’ and ‘Nunna’. Six films received consolation prizes. A total of 41 films were submitted. B. Lalchhanzova, the Minister of IPR & PS, highlighted the importance of quality filmmaking and announced the upcoming ‘Lemchan – Mizo Film Festival’ scheduled for March 16–18 to support the film industry. He emphasized the need for continuous skill development and perseverance in order to achieve national recognition for Mizo films.
