Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has kicked off the fiscal year on a high note, reporting a robust 12 percent year-on-year growth in total sales for May 2026. The two-wheeler giant clocked an impressive 518,000 units in total sales, a significant leap from the 4.65 lakh units recorded in the same period last year.
The growth was firmly anchored by a solid performance in the domestic market. HMSI’s domestic sales witnessed a 10 percent increase, climbing to 459,000 units last month compared to 417,000 units in May 2025. This steady domestic demand highlights strong consumer confidence and a vibrant two-wheeler market across the country.
However, the standout highlight of the month was the company’s export performance. HMSI recorded a massive 23.62 percent jump in outbound shipments, exporting 59,166 units in May 2026 against 47,859 units in the corresponding month last year. This surge emphasizes Honda’s growing footprint in international markets.
Company officials attribute this sustained success to a diverse product portfolio that caters to evolving consumer needs, paired with an aggressive expansion strategy. With an extensive network of over 7,000 touchpoints across India, HMSI continues to deepen customer accessibility and strengthen its market presence. Industry experts view these figures as a positive indicator of steady momentum for the automotive sector in the coming quarters.
