Adani Infra (India) Ltd, a promoter group entity of Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), has acquired a 1.03 per cent stake in the renewable energy company through a block deal worth approximately ₹2,380 crore. According to data available on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the transaction was executed on Monday.

Under the deal, Adani Infra purchased 1.7 crore equity shares of AGEL at an average price of ₹1,400 per share. The shares were acquired from Ardour Investment Holding Ltd, another promoter group entity, which sold an equal number of shares at the same price.

Following the transaction, Adani Infra’s shareholding in Adani Green Energy increased from 1.31 per cent to 2.34 per cent. Meanwhile, Ardour Investment Holding’s stake declined from 5.04 per cent to 4.01 per cent. Market participants noted that the transaction involved only promoter group entities and, therefore, did not alter the company’s overall promoter shareholding.

Investor sentiment remained positive after the deal, with Adani Green Energy shares rising 1.48 per cent to close at ₹1,415.60 apiece on the NSE.

The latest acquisition follows a similar transaction in June, when Adani Infra purchased a 1.31 per cent stake, or 2.15 crore equity shares, in Adani Green Energy from Ardour Investment Holding for ₹3,246 crore through open market transactions. The move reflects an internal restructuring of promoter holdings while maintaining the group’s overall ownership in the renewable energy company.
