Electric vehicle manufacturer Ultraviolette on Wednesday announced a nationwide incentive programme aimed at supporting India’s transition to electric mobility by reducing the cost of switching from petrol-powered two-wheelers.
Launched under the ‘Kill the Petrol Bill’ campaign, the initiative offers customers purchasing the Ultraviolette F77 or X-47 electric motorcycles cashback linked to the distance covered on their existing petrol-powered two-wheelers over the past two years. Buyers will receive ₹1 cashback for every kilometre ridden, with benefits of up to ₹30,000. A customer who has travelled 20,000 km during the period, for instance, will be eligible for ₹20,000 in cashback. The company also estimates that riders can reduce fuel expenditure by ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 per month after switching to its electric motorcycles.
Announcing the programme, Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-founder of Ultraviolette, said the initiative is intended to make electric mobility more accessible while supporting Prime Minister NarendraModi’s vision of accelerating EV adoption in the country. He said the programme enables consumers to move away from fuel dependency while benefiting from lower operating costs, advanced technology, strong performance, reliability and an enhanced ownership experience.
The announcement comes as policymakers continue to encourage cleaner transportation through electrification and reduced dependence on fossil fuels. Ultraviolette said it is strengthening its position in the electric mobility sector through sustained product innovation, expansion of its retail footprint, growing customer adoption and progress in international markets, reflecting the industry’s increasing focus on long-term ownership value and sustainable mobility.
