On National Education Day, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) highlighted its role in shaping India’s future workforce through advanced technology-driven education and skill development programs. By leveraging innovation in automotive training, TKM is equipping the youth of India, especially those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, with the skills needed to thrive in the rapidly evolving industrial landscape.
The Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI) stands at the forefront of TKM’s commitment to education. Since its inception in 2007, TTTI has provided free, state-of-the-art training in automobile manufacturing. With a recent expansion to 1,200 students, including 600 women, the institute now offers a comprehensive three-year residential program combining hands-on learning with cutting-edge manufacturing practices. Additionally, TKM’s Toyota Kaushalya Program offers a hybrid “Learn and Earn” model, where rural youth gain industry experience while continuing their studies.
In the Aizawl, TKM’s initiatives are particularly impactful as the region seeks to build its automotive and manufacturing sectors. With increasing infrastructure development, Aizawl is poised to benefit from TKM’s programs, which provide local youth with access to advanced automotive technologies and practical training. These efforts are crucial in equipping the workforce with the skills required to meet the demands of a modern, tech-driven economy.G. Shankara, Executive VP at TKM, stated, “Our commitment to skill development reflects our dedication to innovation and India’s future.”
