The Chief Minister Lalduhoma graced the celebration as the “Father of the Festival” in keeping with Mizo custom, and Chapchar Kut, one of the important festivals of Mizoram, was conducted today at the AR Ground. It was a significant cultural event. This action highlighted the festival’s significance to Mizoram’s people on a cultural and traditional level.
The Chief Minister Lalduhoma emphasized in his speech the tenacity of the Mizo ancestors who observed the event in spite of many difficulties. He underlined how crucial it is to preserve and revive the rich traditions and rituals that have helped the community get through hard times. This appeal to cherish cultural history while eschewing harmful habits struck a chord with the listeners, strengthening the people’s feeling of identity and solidarity.
Lalduhoma also praised Mizoram for its excellent refugee management, which has made it easier for displaced people to peacefully integrate into the state. He highlighted the need of maintaining these values for the preservation of peace and stability by attributing this success to the resilience of Mizo community and the observance of law and order. Art & Culture Minister C. Lalsawivunga, who is hosting the festival, kindly invited everyone to join in on the fun and be part of the celebrations. He also gave thanks to everyone who had helped make the event go well, which served to further emphasize the appreciation and sense of community.
The festival’s significance transcended geographical bounds as seen by the participation of famous attendees including Taiwan’s Ambassador Bhausuan Ger and his wife Pi Hui Chen Chen, along with participants from other states.
