While visiting the BSF Sector Headquarters at Durtlang North in Aizawl, Mizoram Governor Gen (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) commended BSF officers and staff for their dedication to maintaining security along the India-Bangladesh border. In addition, the Governor praised the forces’ steadfast dedication to national security while meeting with BSF members during their tour. The governor called for greater vigilance against illicit cross-border activity and emphasized the importance of vigilance for maintaining border integrity.

In addition to praising the security measures, the governor also praised the BSF’s Civic Action Program, which helps to foster some goodwill between the public and the military. He exhorted the staff to carry out the humanitarian work with zeal and commitment. Kalyan Kanti Majumdar, DIG, and other senior officers welcomed the Governor with a Guard of Honour upon his arrival. He received a thorough briefing on the BSF’s strategic duties in Mizoram, including the operational difficulties the force faces.

The Governor was briefed on all aspects of the BSF’s operations in the area while touring the BSF office and Composite Hospital. In order to enhance security, the BSF maintains 58 Border Outposts (BOPs) along 318 km of the India-Bangladesh border in Mizoram.
