A virtual meeting of the High Level Task Force on Handloom & Handicraft, led by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), was held in Aizawl. Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma highlighted the region’s rich tradition and vital role in the sector, highlighting the region’s 60% handloom and handicraft workforce. He proposed a roadmap to develop the sector across the Northeast, including Common Facility Centres, structured training programs, interstate collaboration, standardization of product quality and branding, and innovation in design and skill development.
