Civil Hospital, Aizawl is pleased to announce the successful renovation of Labour Room and Maternity Ward at O&G building. The renovated Labour Room and Maternity Ward was officially inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Mizoram Pu Lalduhoma on 12th June 2024.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister, in his speech talked about the various efforts taken up the government to improve Infant Mortality Rate in the state. He stated that while Mizoram is in a relatively better position, this is no cause for complacency and expressed his hope that the newly renovated Labour Room and Maternity Ward will prove to be beneficial for many.
The initiation of this project was done under the guidance of Mrs. Nazuk Kumar, Chairman, RKS Governing Body, Civil Hospital, Aizawl -cum- Deputy Commissioner, Aizawl District, Aizawl. The renovation work was carried out during December 2023 till June 2024. Senior Medical Superintendents Dr. ST Lalruatfela and Dr. Zoramthanga played a pivotal part in the completion of the project.
The project is crucial for improvement in the healthcare facilities for expectant mothers and newborns. The project was funded by Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS), Civil Hospital Aizawl.
