The Telecom Advisory Committee (TAC) held a meeting at CWW Conference Hall New Capital Complex under the chairmanship of Mizoram Lok Sabha MP & TAC Chairman Shri Richard Vanlalhmangaiha. The meeting was attended by TAC members and BSNL officers of Mizoram BA.
The MP Lok Sabha Shri Richard Vanlalhmangaiha informed the BSNL to take action for telecom coverage at all villages especially to enable villagers for geo-tagging under PM Poshan, VB-G RAM G, NREGA, etc. He encouraged the BSNL officers to make all out effort for completion of important projects including DBN 4G Saturation Project, BOP-BIP Project, Indo-Myanmar Project and others.
During the meeting, Shri B.P. Meena, General Manager, BSNL Mizoram BA, presented an overview of the major telecom initiatives undertaken in the State. He highlighted the commissioning of 111 new 4G sites under Phase-IX.2 and 30 sites under the 4G Saturation Project, significantly improving mobile connectivity in remote and previously uncovered villages. BSNL also informed the Committee that Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) connectivity has recently been extended to Saitual, Khawzawl and Champhai district headquarters. Further, bandwidth capacities at Serchhip, Lunglei, Lawngtlai, and Siaha have been substantially enhanced to meet the growing demand for telecom and broadband services.
