Tata AIA Life Insurance, a leading life insurer and designated Lead Insurer for Mizoram, has launched a transformative CSR initiative to bridge the digital education divide in the state. With only 10.6% of schools in Mizoram equipped with computers (ASER 2024), the company’s digital classroom program is now operational in eight government schools in Aizawl, benefiting 1,436 students between 2024 and 2026.
The initiative includes smart classrooms with interactive tools, specialized teacher training for over 75 educators, and locally relevant digital content developed with Teachmint Edutech. Infrastructure upgrades include computers, projectors, and connectivity solutions, aiming to improve attendance, learning outcomes, and digital adoption in schools. Aizawl’s education sector has shown strong interest in the initiative, with schools reporting increased student participation and growing demand for more digital-enabled teaching. The city’s educators have welcomed the professional development aspect, noting improved teaching outcomes and alignment with students’ digital aspirations.
Parallelly, Tata AIA has reached over 8 lakh people across Mizoram through insurance awareness efforts such as the Bimarath van, out-of-home campaigns, social media outreach in the Mizo language, and monthly Masik Bima Diwas sessions—reinforcing its long-term commitment to inclusive growth and IRDAI’s “Insurance for All by 2047” vision.
