For millions of women, periods bring not only physical discomfort but also the constant worry of leakage and knowing when it is time to change a sanitary pad. Addressing this everyday concern, Stayfree®, one of India’s leading menstrual hygiene brands, has launched the upgraded Stayfree® Secure XL, introducing an innovative ‘Pad Change Alert’ feature designed to provide greater confidence, comfort and protection.
Powered by Double Leak Lock Technology, the upgraded Stayfree® Secure XL offers Double Protection for up to 12 hours through two protective barriers. While the inner barrier locks in menstrual flow, the outer barrier gradually turns red, serving as a visual ‘Pad Change Alert’ to indicate when the pad should be changed. According to STAYFREE, consumer research and testing conducted by MMR in India in 2026 found that 100 per cent of women liked the upgraded product.
Explaining the need for the innovation, Supriya Srinivasa, Marketing Director, Stayfree® India, said women often carry a significant mental load during periods, worrying about leakage, accessto toilets and whether they have enough pads. She said the upgraded product has been developed to reduce one of those key anxieties by helping women know the right time to change their pad. Dr. Dilip Tripathi, Head of Baby & Women’s Health Research & Development at Kenvue, said the innovation reflects extensive research and consumer feedback, combining protection with comfort to meet the evolving needs of women leading increasingly busy lives.
To amplify the launch, STAYFREE has rolled out the “Zero Tension. Double Protection” campaign featuring Bollywood actor and brand ambassador Kiara Advani. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Shoojit Sircar and produced by Omnicom (Magnon India), the campaign will be supported through television, influencer collaborations, digital outreach, sampling drives, wall paintings and on-ground activations. The upgraded Stayfree® Secure XL is now available at supermarkets, kirana stores, e-commerce and quick commerce platforms across India.
