The Siaha district administration on Wednesday held a meeting to review preparations for the celebration of India’s 79th Independence Day, with officials discussing arrangements and assigning responsibilities to ensure the event is organised smoothly. The meeting was held at the DC Mini Conference Hall in Siaha under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner V.L. Hruaizela Khian. During the meeting, officials discussed various aspects of the Independence Day programme to ensure the national occasion is celebrated in a dignified and well-coordinated manner. Responsibilities were assigned to different government departments for the successful conduct of the celebrations.
It was decided that the main Independence Day function will be held at the SDFA Playground, Meisatla, beginning at 10 am on August 15. The official ‘At Home’ reception for invited guests and dignitaries will be organised at the bungalow of the Chief Executive Member (CEM) from 12 noon. The meeting also considered a proposal submitted by the Siaha District Football Association (SDFA) to organise a football tournament as part of the Independence Day celebrations. After discussion, the proposal was approved.
Officials further discussed the financial contributions to be made by various government departments for organising the district-level celebrations.
