While earlier rumors suggested the Pro model might match the Ultra’s zoom capabilities, the latest leaks indicate Samsung is settling for a lower-resolution 12MP telephoto lens alongside a 200MP main camera and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. By contrast, the flagship Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to keep a superior 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, though it will reportedly drop its secondary 3x sensor to streamline its setup to three rear lenses. Industry analysts attribute these camera adjustments to surging component expenses, particularly rising DRAM and NAND memory chip prices, which have forced smartphone manufacturers to tame production costs and protect profit margins.
