The Mizoram government is set to construct a ropeway at Vantawng Falls, located near Thenzawl in Serchhip district, to enhance tourism infrastructure in the state. This project aims to provide visitors with a bird’s-eye view of the state’s tallest waterfall and is funded through the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme, with ₹34.50 crore already sanctioned. Administrative approval and expenditure clearance have been received, but a contractor has yet to be selected. Vantawng Falls, 92 km from Aizawl, is a key attraction for both domestic and international tourists. Officials and local stakeholders believe the ropeway will enhance visitor experience, improve accessibility, create job opportunities, and boost tourism in Thenzawl and surrounding areas, potentially transforming the site into a world-class destination.
