Eight cadets from the newly established 2 Mizo Battalion NCC, based in Lunglei, Mizoram, achieved a significant milestone by delivering a bamboo dance performance at the Prime Minister’s Rally in New Delhi during the Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) in January 2026. This event marked the inaugural representation of NCC cadets from South Mizoram, heralding a new chapter not just for the district but for the entire state. The cadets performed with professionalism and confidence, despite being given this responsibility on short notice. Their display of exceptional coordination, discipline, and cultural elegance garnered widespread acclaim on a national platform. In recognition of their accomplishment, the Governor of Mizoram has scheduled a felicitation for the eight cadets on March 3, 2026, in Aizawl, honoring their dedication and the pride they have brought to the state. Colonel Sagar K Mohanty, Commanding Officer of the battalion, commented on the collective effort and commitment that led to this achievement, commending the instructors and educational institutions for their support while specifically praising the performance and discipline of cadets including Joel V. L. Hruaitluanga, Allemande, C. Lalruathlua, HC Lalvohbika, Samuel V. L. Pekhlua, Lalhimpuii, C. Lallawmkimi, and F. Lalhriatpuii. This historic event exemplifies the potential of the youth in Mizoram and the increasing strength of newly formed NCC units, inspiring more young individuals across the state to join the NCC and take part in nation building and fostering national integration.
