Esther Lalduhawmi Hnamte has been awarded India’s highest civilian honour for children, the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2025. The award ceremony took place at Lok Bhavan in Aizawl, where Mizoram Governor, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd), congratulated her on this significant achievement, highlighting that her success brings pride not only to Mizoram but to the entire nation. He encouraged Esther to maintain disciplined training and aim for even higher excellence, recognizing her as an inspiration and symbol of potential for young talents across India. The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is administered by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and acknowledges exceptional achievements of children aged 5 to 18 years across seven distinct categories: Bravery, Art & Culture, Environment, Innovation, Social Service, Science & Technology, and Sports. This year, a total of 20 outstanding children from 18 States and Union Territories were honored with the prestigious award, with Esther being recognized specifically in the Art & Culture category by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, during a ceremony at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on December 26, 2025.
