Together, the Champhai Excise and Narcotics Department and the Assam Rifles seized heroin valued at Rs 90.02 lakhs from the New Champhai neighborhood in Mizoram. Following specific information reports regarding the flow of drugs in the region, the joint operation was initiated. While the heroin was being recovered, an Area Domination Patrol was conducted in the direction of New Champhai village. The Champhai Excise and Narcotics Department has received the recovered substances for further legal action.

On May 15, the Assam Rifles and the Customs Preventive Force conducted a coordinated operation that resulted in a significant drug recovery in Kelkang village, Champhai district. In the illicit market, authorities found 2.5 kg of Heroin No. 4, which is estimated to be worth Rs 17.54 crore. Following particular information inputs regarding the transportation of drugs in the vicinity, the seizure occurred. A concerted area control patrol was started right away. Security officers found 219 soap cases containing premium heroin during the sweep.
