Sarma made the announcement at a special media conclave organised by the BJP at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan in Guwahati to mark completion of 12 years of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister. The event was titled “12 Years of Trust, Development and Public Welfare”.
The Chief Minister credited the Narendra Modi government for significantly boosting Assam’s financial growth. He said that between 2006 and 2026, Assam received Rs 1.7 lakh crore from the Centre, while central assistance between 2016 and 2026 alone stood at Rs 5.5 lakh crore.
