Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Nimuben Jayantibhai Bambhaniya said the development of Northeastern states is a key priority for the Narendra Modi government, which remains fully committed to delivering infrastructure and social welfare schemes to the last person. During her visit to Khawzawl district in Mizoram, Bambhaniya said the central government is committed to inclusive development. She emphasised that the government’s primary goal was to bring progress to every village, family, region, and citizen.

During the tour, Bambhaniya inspected National Highway 6 and issued directives to NHIDCL officials regarding road construction and timely maintenance. Following this, she visited KVK Khawzawl, where she praised the innovations in the agricultural sector and extended special congratulations to the five local farmers who have been honored with national awards. She also suggested organizing larger agricultural exhibitions in the future to enhance the knowledge of school children.

To strengthen the food security system, the Minister inspected the PDS godown at Kawnzar and the Fair Price Shop at Electric Veng. During her visit to the shop, the Minister engaged in direct dialogue with beneficiaries to verify the effective use of digital authentication for food distribution. She further emphasized the necessity of maintaining adequate monsoon stocks to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted availability of food grains for the community.

While reviewing health services, she inspected the laboratory constructed under Ayushman Bharat (PM-ABHIM) at the District Hospital and discussed the process for the early commencement of the Jan Aushadhi center. Finally, she visited the Anganwadi Centre at Electric Veng and Little Flower Primary School, where she met with teachers and students, reiterating the government’s priority to create an excellent and barrier-free learning environment for children.
