The National Executive Meeting of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) was held in New Delhi on August 10, bringing together senior party leaders and representatives to discuss organisational, political and developmental issues. Nagaland leaders attending the meeting included Dr. Sukhato A. Sema, MLA and Leader of the Legislature Party, Naiba Konyak, MLA and Chief Whip, and Viloto Pukhato, State President of LJP (Ram Vilas). National Secretary S. Richard Humtsoe also participated in the deliberations. The meeting highlighted the significance of the Look East Policy introduced under former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao and its transformation into the Act East Policy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Leaders said the policy offers significant opportunities for Nagaland and the wider Northeast through improved connectivity, cross-border trade, tourism, agriculture and food processing. The meeting also reaffirmed the party’s confidence in National President and Union Cabinet Minister Chirag Paswan. Nagaland leaders expressed their commitment to strengthening the voice of the state and the Northeast at the national level. State President Viloto Pukhato urged the early release of the first instalment for food processing industries in Nagaland, saying timely support could create jobs, encourage entrepreneurship and help unemployed youth become economically self-reliant. Pukhato assured Chirag Paswan of the Nagaland unit’s continued cooperation and commitment to strengthening the party across the Northeast.
