MNF leader Lalruatkima asserted that the MNF is the sole party fit to govern Aizawl, labeling it the “Jerusalem” of the Mizo people. Speaking at a party event in Aizawl’s Tuikual area, he noted the MNF’s significant developmental accomplishments in the region. He emphasized the party’s commitment to their land and population, positioning it as the preferred choice for governance. Lalruatkima confidently predicted the MNF’s return to power in the 2028 assembly elections, reinforced by public trust and divine support. He highlighted the competence of the MNF’s candidates for the upcoming municipal elections, noting that among their 19 nominees are established figures, including sitting corporators and significant community leaders. The elections for the 19-member Aizawl Municipal Council will occur on April 21, with results announced on April 27, amid a total of 68 candidates, including 28 women, contesting, representing MNF, the ruling Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), Congress, and BJP.
