Mizoram Lokayukta has registered 20 corruption-related complaints for the 2024-2025 period, with six referred for preliminary inquiry, as reported in the Sixth Annual Report. Since its inception in March 2019, the Lokayukta has recorded a total of 91 cases as of January 8, 2026, with 58 cases disposed of and 33 under preliminary inquiry or investigation. During this time, eight preliminary inquiry reports have been received, resulting in five disposed cases and two convictions in one case. Lalmalsawma, Chairperson of the Lokayukta, presented the Sixth Annual Report, covering April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, to General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd), the Governor of Mizoram, and it is set to be tabled in the Mizoram Legislative Assembly. The meeting included a briefing on the Lokayukta’s status, activities, future plans, and anticipated outcomes, with the Governor encouraging enhanced efforts in their work.
