The Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) “Financial Literacy Week 2025” was officially launched by Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh at the Mizoram Rural Bank (MRB) Head Office in Aizawl. The launch of Financial Literacy Messages Booklets, which will be given to 513 libraries around the state to raise citizens’ financial literacy, was part of the event. The subject for this year, “Financial Literacy – Women’s Prosperity,” aligns with the goal of creating an independent India under Vikshit Bharat 2047.

In his remarks, Governor Singh praised the RBI for its ongoing efforts to promote financial literacy and emphasized the critical role that financial literacy plays in empowering women. Additionally, the Governor cited many central government programs designed to assist residents, including social security programs, credit guarantees, and entrepreneurial efforts. In order to facilitate access to essential financial services and social security benefits, he urged banks and other financial institutions to make sure that everyone in Mizoram who qualifies is included in the official financial system.

According to T. Lhungdim, General Manager and Officer-in-Charge of RBI Aizawl, Financial Literacy Week is in its tenth year. T. Lhungdim also waved off a Financial Literacy Van, which will spread knowledge on financial literacy throughout the week by visiting five districts: Aizawl, Serchhip, Lunglei, Hnahtial, and Saitual. Representatives from NABARD, State Bank of India, Mizoram Rural Bank, and Mizoram Co-operative Apex Bank were among the other speakers at the event, and they all reaffirmed their dedication to raising financial literacy in the state.
