Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma conducted a review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Conference Hall with officials from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to evaluate the progress of National Highway projects in the state. He acknowledged the support of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, noting that several proposals from Mizoram have been positively received. The meeting discussed the adoption of rigid pavement technology, suitable for Mizoram’s heavy rainfall. It reviewed the status of major highway projects managed by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited and the state Public Works Department, addressing ongoing works, completed segments, and execution challenges, while also revisiting decisions from a prior meeting held in September. Updates on highway improvements in various districts and proposals pending central approval were shared. Attendees included PWD Minister Vanlalhlana, EF&CC Minister Lalthansanga, Revenue Minister B Lalchhanzova, senior government officials, and highway authority representatives.
