Mizoram Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma released “A tur a na tawh lo ve”, a book authored by Pi Lalnunmawii, at the CM Conference Hall.

Speaking at the release programme, Lalduhoma praised the author for documenting her 26 years of experience in the care and rehabilitation of people struggling with substance abuse. He said her continued dedication to the fight against drugs was evident throughout the book and described her commitment as commendable.

Referring to the proverb, “Those who have walked the path know the way,” the Chief Minister said Lalnunmawii’s long experience had given her a deep understanding of the challenges faced by people battling addiction. He suggested that the book could be particularly useful for substance users, their families and those working on the frontline of the anti-drug movement.

Lalduhoma said tackling substance abuse remains a major priority of his government, which is working closely with the YMA, churches and various NGOs. He said efforts aimed at reducing both the supply and demand for illicit drugs were producing encouraging results, with illegal drugs becoming increasingly difficult to obtain.

The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of spreading the message that addiction can be overcome. He said the government was ready to extend support through various programmes to people sincerely seeking recovery.

At the Hulhhliap Short Stay Centre, he said, residents are provided with addiction recovery assistance along with vocational and skill-development training to help them become self-reliant. He added that 21 residents had already received financial assistance under the CM Special Package through the Handholding Scheme.

Lalduhoma expressed hope that stronger aftercare services would help people leaving rehabilitation centres avoid relapse and build a stable life in recovery.

The programme was chaired by CYMA president Pu R. Lalngheta. Pu Lallawmzuala Hauhnar gave a preview and review of the book, while author Pi Lalnunmawii spoke about her experience and journey in writing the book.
