Chief Minister Mr. Lalduhoma today inaugurated Samuel Lifecare & Cosmetics Private Limited, established by Dr. Lalrokhawma and his family at Lengpui Vengthar.
The company, which has undertaken three years of research and development, has begun manufacturing and marketing 46 varieties of cosmetics, nine home-care products and two food supplements.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Chief Minister said the establishment of Samuel Lifecare & Cosmetics Private Limited was significant not only for Mizoram but could also mark an important milestone for the entire Northeast.
He noted that all the products manufactured by the company were developed from formulas derived through its own research and development. He said that, particularly in the field of cosmetics, the company appeared to be among the first of its kind in the Northeast, describing the initiative as “planting a new seed for Mizoram and the Northeast.”

The Chief Minister pointed out that Mizoram spends substantial amounts every year on consumer goods, including cosmetics, most of which are brought in from outside the State and the country. Consequently, much of the money earned by the people of Mizoram flows out of the State. Producing goods locally, he said, is therefore essential for strengthening the State’s economy.

He said the Government had been promoting such initiatives since assuming office. He highlighted the Handholding Scheme, or Bana Kaih, as a flagship initiative aimed primarily at supporting people with the ability and skills to establish and develop enterprises. He also mentioned the Innovation Centre and Incubation Centre for nurturing new ideas and innovations, as well as the Bana Kaih Venture Capital Fund to help entrepreneurs turn their innovations into viable enterprises.

The Chief Minister acknowledged that the company was still at an early stage and had taken substantial loans to expand its operations. He assured the company of the Government’s continued support as long as it pursued a path of sustainable growth.

He also appealed to the people of Mizoram to actively use products manufactured by Samuel Lifecare & Cosmetics and urged shopkeepers to stock and promote them. He encouraged e-commerce businesses to market the products beyond Mizoram and across India.
He further urged Government offices to purchase and use products manufactured by the local company, stating that the Government was committed to maximising the use of locally manufactured goods. He noted that the Government had strengthened the Mizoram Preferential Store Purchase Rules to give due importance to products made by local entrepreneurs.

Dr. Lalrokhawma, founder of Skinfyx, said in his report that the company had begun its work three years ago and had carefully developed its products through research and formulation, with a strong emphasis on quality. He said the company had developed its own formulations and was now capable of significantly scaling up production. He expressed confidence that, with the support and patronage of the people, the company could meet the entire demand for cosmetics and related products in Mizoram within six months.

He also expressed confidence in the quality of the company’s products, noting that many existing customers had appreciated them and continued to return for repeat purchases.
Dr. Lalrokhawma further said that most of the company’s products had been designed with refill options, reducing the need to discard empty containers and promoting more sustainable consumption.

The inaugural programme was chaired by Mr. Lallawmthanga, VCP, Lengpui. Mr. Lalsawma Pachuau, Retired FDA Joint Director and Consultant Pharmacist of Samuel Lifecare & Cosmetics, delivered a speech, while Ms. Mimi Zonunpari, Management In-charge, delivered the vote of thanks.

The company does not yet have a dedicated retail outlet. Customers interested in purchasing the products or those wishing to become distributors may contact Dr. Lalrokhawma (Rka) at 8167379173. Products can be delivered or dispatched as required.
