The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Mizoram has announced a major reshuffle of its morcha leadership in an effort to expand its organizational strength and intensify grassroots engagement ahead of future electoral battles.

The appointments, party leaders say, are designed to bring fresh energy into the party’s state units and ensure stronger coordination with local communities.

According to the announcement, Helena Lalsawmkimi has been appointed president of the State Mahila Morcha, giving a renewed push to women’s participation in the party. Lalmalsawma, a retired agriculture service officer, will now lead the State Kisan Morcha, where his experience in the agricultural sector is expected to help the BJP connect with Mizoram’s farming community. Meanwhile, Chawnghmingthanga will head the State Scheduled Tribe Morcha, reflecting the party’s focus on indigenous representation, and William Rinawma Pachuau has been entrusted with the State Minority Morcha, tasked with outreach to minority groups across the state.
