Medanta – The Medicity, recognized six times by Newsweek as India’s Best Private Hospital, has launched a breast cancer awareness film, Banno Ki Rasm, which has already crossed 8 million views on social media. As part of the hospital’s “Jaanta Hai Medanta” initiative, the 2-minute 28-second video promotes self-breast exams as a monthly practice, framing early detection as a public health priority with implications for healthcare policy and resource allocation.
Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman & Managing Director, stated, “This initiative reflects our commitment to empowering women while breaking the stigma surrounding breast cancer.” Dr. Kanchan Kaur, Senior Director of Breast Cancer, emphasized that routine self-exams and timely screenings improve outcomes, reduce treatment costs, and contribute to sustainable healthcare planning. With breast cancer accounting for one in four cancers among women worldwide, such campaigns highlight the importance of preventive health policies.
The film has spurred measurable market and consumer response. Local pharmacies, diagnostic centers, and wellness clinics reported rising inquiries for preventive screenings and breast health packages. Health-conscious consumers are increasingly engaging in early detection measures, signaling a growing demand for structured healthcare services and a potential policy focus on women’s preventive health in the region.
