A 38-year-old man was trampled to death in Assam’s Nagaon district in the wee hours of today.
The deceased, who has been identified as Sanjay Das of the Dakhinjar Bagan area, was killed by two elephants while he was trying to chase them away at Kampur area. The elephants are believed to have strayed out of the nearby Borpani Reserve Forest. After receiving information about the incident, a team of forest staff and sent the body for post-mortem examination. This particular incident has raised concern about man-elephant conflict taking a serious turn in Nagaon district.
