Lunglei, Mizoram, has been awarded the ‘Promising Swachh Shehar of Mizoram Award’ under the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2024-2025. The award, part of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban initiative, evaluates towns and cities across India based on cleanliness indicators. Lunglei has won six Swachh Survekshan awards since its debut in 2016, including Best City in Innovation and Best Practices, Best City in Citizen Feedback, Clean City in NE Zone, and Clean City within Mizoram. The awards ceremony took place in New Delhi on July 17, 2025.
