In a minor reshuffle within the Mizoram Cabinet, Minister B. Lalchhanzova has been assigned charge of the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) and Printing and Stationery departments, according to an official notification issued on Wednesday, October 8. The order, released by Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena, stated that the portfolios were previously held by Minister Vanlalthlana. The latest allocation aims to enhance administrative efficiency and balance responsibilities within the state government.
With this change, Lalchhanzova will now oversee two key departments that play a crucial role in government communication and publication services. The I&PR Department serves as the primary channel for disseminating government policies and public information, while the Printing and Stationery Department manages official publications, printing, and stationery supplies across all state departments.
Minister Vanlalthlana, who previously handled the two portfolios, will continue to head the School Education and Higher & Technical Education departments. In addition, he has been designated to assist Chief Minister Zoramthanga on issues related to taxation, reflecting the Chief Minister’s trust in his experience and administrative capabilities.
