Along with Lawngtlai Deputy Commissioner Donny Lalruatsanga, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Lai Autonomous District Council C Lalsawmzuala visited Hruitezawl hamlet to assess border commerce with Myanmar. He underlined the necessity of methodical planning and improved arrangements, stressing the significance of efficient and well-coordinated trade with neighbouring Myanmar. According to Lalsawmzuala, the Council Government seeks to control and effectively oversee the transit and movement of products along the Chhimtuipui river routes.

He went on to say that there is a great need for surveillance in a number of areas because Hruitezawl is close to the international boundary. He urged the villagers to work hard for the benefit of both the people and the land. He reassured them that efforts would be made to meet their demands and emphasised the significance of collaboration between the government and local authorities. According to Deputy Commissioner Donny Lalruatsanga, there is a significant risk of unlawful entry from across the border because Hruitezawl is a hub for cross-border trade with Myanmar.

He asked the local authorities to stay vigilant. He added that the government is aware of and keeping an eye on about 300 refugee families that are now living in Hruitezawl. He urged the local authorities to offer complete cooperation and emphasised the significance of making sure that no illicit activity occurs in the area. Additionally, he promised that the government will continue to assist in meeting the village’s requirements. Lalsawmzuala and Lalruatsanga also went to Bawinu, a well-known tourist destination in Hruitezawl. They underlined the necessity of maintaining its natural beauty while enhancing tourist amenities, infrastructure, and accessibility for the growth of tourism.
