The Senapati Forest Department, Executive Magistrate, and Senapati Police, under the leadership of SDPO Senapati, conducted a concerted effort to end poppy cultivation in the Makuilongdi forest region under Senapati Police Station, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh declared. The illegal crops were successfully destroyed during the operation, which targeted about 8.6 acres of poppy fields that were in the flowering stage. For additional inquiry, a case has been filed at the Senapati Police Station. The chief minister underlined that such actions not only damage the environment but also undermine the social cohesion of communities, and he praised the team for their proactive efforts in addressing this pressing issue.
