HMD Global is set to expand its budget smartphone portfolio in India tomorrow, June 16, 2026, with the official launch of a new 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant for the HMD Vibe 2 5G. Originally introduced earlier this year exclusively in a baseline configuration, this upcoming higher-spec model aims to address growing consumer demand for smoother multitasking capabilities and expanded onboard storage within the highly competitive sub-₹15,000 price bracket. By doubling the internal storage capacity and bumping up the physical memory, the Finnish smartphone manufacturer is positioning this fresh iteration as a highly practical choice for budget-conscious buyers, heavy media consumers, and casual mobile gamers looking for a future-proof 5G device.

Beyond the upgraded internal memory layout, the new variant of the HMD Vibe 2 5G will retain the exact physical footprint and hardware specifications of its original sibling. The smartphone will continue to feature a vibrant 6.56-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate, powered by a reliable entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 4-series 5G chipset. On the optics front, it houses a dual rear camera setup spearheaded by a 50-megapixel primary sensor, complemented by an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The device is backed by a robust 5,000 mAh battery that supports standard fast charging, runs a clean, ad-free version of Android 14 out of the box, and comes with HMD’s signature promise of two years of major OS upgrades alongside three years of security patches, ensuring long-term software reliability.
