A government doctor lost his life while performing his duty. The doctor died after a wall collapsed while he was inspecting repair work at a Primary Health Centre. The tragic incident occurred on Saturday in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.

The deceased doctor has been identified as Dr. Naveen Dimri, the in-charge Medical Officer of Narayanbagad Primary Health Centre. The 45-year-old doctor was a resident of Devaldhar village under the Gopeshwar constituency in Chamoli district.

According to police, repair work was underway at the damaged section of the health centre following a landslide and flash flood on June 28. On Saturday afternoon, while inspecting the repair work, a wall suddenly collapsed on the doctor. As a result, Dr. Dimri got trapped under the debris.

Staff present at the spot immediately launched a rescue operation and pulled the doctor out from under the debris and rushed him to the health centre. As his condition was critical, he was referred to Karnaprayag Sub-District Hospital for advanced treatment. However, doctors at the hospital declared him dead on arrival.

According to government sources, Dr. Dimri had finished his OPD duties in the morning on Saturday and had gone out to inspect the repair work when the accident took place.
