Godrej Agrovet Limited’s Oil Palm Business inaugurated its first Samadhan center for oil palm farmers in Bukvannei, Kolasib district, marking a significant push toward modernizing the region’s palm oil industry. Samadhan, a one-stop solution (OSS) center, offers farmers comprehensive support—from seeds to harvesting—aimed at optimizing yields through advanced agricultural techniques and productivity-boosting tools.
The launch event was attended by Joseph Lalnuntluanga, District Agriculture Officer of Kolasib, Lianthanzauva, Assistant Director of Agriculture, and Sougata Niyogi, CEO – Oil Palm Business, Godrej Agrovet. Under the National Mission on Edible Oil – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP), Mizoram has a cultivation potential of 60,000–70,000 hectares. The center provides expert guidance on balanced fertilizer application, soil testing, water management, and irrigation solutions, including drip irrigation for dry months. Sougata Niyogi highlighted the center’s role in supporting sustainable development and enabling farmers to access government schemes, developmental finance, and modern agricultural technologies. Each Samadhan center aims to support planting over 2,000 hectares of oil palm and improve sustained productivity in mature gardens.
The opening of the Bukvannei center is expected to stimulate local demand for quality oil palm seedlings and related inputs. Farmers in and around now have improved access to advisory services, tools, and financial assistance, which is likely to boost oil palm adoption and strengthen the local agribusiness ecosystem.
