The northeastern state of Mizoram, which is renowned for its self-regulated marketplaces and orderly traffic, has added yet another noteworthy chapter to its history of community service. During the holiday season, a local taxi driver has converted his white Alto (registration MZ01P4866) into a mobile Christmas cheerleader, providing residents with complimentary rides. With its Christmas tree, Santa Claus, and snowman cutouts, the car stands out from the crowd and shouts “FREE SERVICE” across the capital city. Chief Minister Lalduhoma has taken notice of this initiative and has complimented it on social media as an example of the state’s generosity.

“A lovely reminder of how charity and goodwill enhance the joyous occasion. I appreciate you sharing your warmth and joy. Lalduhoma wrote, emphasizing the gesture that is centered on the community. During the Christmas and New Year season, when public transportation alternatives are usually few, the free taxi service will be available to locals. This project adds to Mizoram’s expanding list of distinctive social customs, where the good of the community frequently comes before personal gain.
